Check Your LHDN e-Invoice Readiness — Free, 2 Minutes
The LHDN e-Invoice mandate now covers nearly every Malaysian business, with the final phases taking effect in 2026. Answer 12 quick questions to get your company's readiness score and the practical steps you need to take — no sign-up, no email required.
Why e-Invoice readiness matters now
Malaysia's e-Invoice rollout is phased by annual company turnover, and the final phases covering smaller businesses take effect in January and July 2026. Businesses with annual turnover below RM500,000 are currently exempt — but most active SMEs will fall under the mandate.
Non-compliance can carry penalties under the Income Tax Act, and rushed last-minute preparation often disrupts daily operations. SMEs that prepare early gain real advantages: cleaner invoicing processes, well-organised digital records, and peace of mind when their phase begins.
This tool assesses your readiness across five areas: mandate understanding, MyTax access and registration, system and data capability, operational processes, and your team's preparedness.
Frequently asked questions
Is my company required to use e-Invoicing?
It depends on your company's annual turnover. The mandate has been rolled out in phases since August 2024, with the final phases covering smaller businesses starting in 2026. Businesses with annual turnover below RM500,000 are currently exempt. Confirm your position on the official LHDN portal, as guidelines can be updated.
What is a consolidated e-invoice?
For B2C retail sales where the buyer does not request an individual e-invoice, you can submit one consolidated e-invoice to LHDN, typically each month. Failing to submit consolidated e-invoices is among the most common compliance mistakes made by SMEs.
Do I need to change my accounting system for e-Invoicing?
Not necessarily — but your system must be able to submit e-invoices to MyInvois, either via API or manual entry on the portal. Local cloud accounting systems like Bukku submit directly to MyInvois with real-time validation, which significantly reduces manual work compared to the portal.
How long does it take to get ready?
A typical SME can be fully ready in 3 to 6 weeks: about a week for MyTax access and administrator appointment, one to two weeks for system and data setup, and the remainder for processes, training and live test submissions.
